This Privacy Policy applies to axellabs.io and to enquiries and projects handled directly by Axel Labs as a digital studio.
1. Who We Are
Axel Labs(“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a digital studio based on the Isle of Man. We design and build websites, custom software, and AI-powered products for clients. Our contact for data matters is hello@axellabs.io.
For the purposes of applicable data protection law, Axel Labs is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and in connection with studio enquiries and projects, unless we agree otherwise in writing for a specific client engagement.
2. What Data We Collect
2.1 Data You Provide Directly
When you contact us via email, our quote form, or other channels on the Site, we may collect:
- Your name;
- Your email address;
- Your company or project details;
- Budget, timeline, or service preferences you share;
- The content of your message;
- Any other information you voluntarily include.
2.2 Data Collected Automatically
Like most websites, the Site may collect certain technical data automatically when you visit, including:
- IP address;
- Browser type and version;
- Pages visited and time spent;
- Referring URL;
- Device and operating system information.
This data is collected via server logs and may be processed by our hosting provider (see Section 4).
2.3 Client Project Data
If you become a client, we may process additional information needed to deliver your project — such as login credentials, brand assets, content you supply, and communications during the build. That data is used only to perform the services described in your project agreement.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use collected data to:
- Respond to enquiries and provide quotes;
- Deliver and manage client projects;
- Send project updates and invoices;
- Maintain and improve the Site;
- Comply with legal obligations;
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse;
- Analyse aggregate usage trends (non-personally-identifiable).
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for behavioural advertising.
4. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
Where GDPR applies, we process personal data on the following bases:
- Contract: to respond to enquiries, deliver projects, and manage client relationships;
- Legitimate interests: to operate and improve the Site, prevent abuse, and promote our studio in a proportionate way;
- Legal obligation: where required by tax, accounting, or other applicable law;
- Consent: where you have given clear consent, such as optional marketing communications (if offered).
5. Third-Party Processors
We may share your data with the following categories of trusted third-party processors, only to the extent necessary to operate the Site and deliver services:
- Hosting and infrastructure:Vercel, Inc. (United States). Site files and server logs are processed on Vercel's infrastructure. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
- Contact forms: Formspree, Inc. (United States). Messages submitted through our quote form may be processed by Formspree. See Formspree's Privacy Policy.
- Payment processing: Stripe, Inc. (United States) or other agreed payment providers. Payment data is processed by the provider as an independent controller or processor, depending on the service. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
We require processors to maintain appropriate security measures and to process data only as needed to provide their services to us.
6. International Transfers
Axel Labs operates from the Isle of Man. Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States (where some of our hosting and service providers are located) and potentially other countries. Where such transfers occur, we rely on appropriate safeguards — including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable — to protect your data.
7. Your Rights — GDPR (EU/UK/Isle of Man)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or the Isle of Man, you have the following rights under applicable data protection law:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure: Ask us to delete your personal data in certain circumstances.
- Restriction: Ask us to restrict processing of your data.
- Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection: Object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In the Isle of Man, this is the Information Commissioner's Office.
8. Your Rights — CCPA (California Residents)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what categories of personal information we have collected about you and for what purpose;
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions;
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information — we do not sell or share your personal information as defined under the CCPA;
- Non-discrimination for exercising your rights.

9. Cookies
The Site uses only essential cookies and similar technologies needed for basic operation and security. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on this site. If we add analytics or optional cookies in future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for consent.
10. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. Enquiry data is typically retained for up to 2 years unless you request earlier deletion. Client project records may be kept longer where needed for accounting, tax, or dispute resolution.
11. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, destruction, or alteration. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
